Conley to be reimbursed for database

By PAMELA BRUST, Senior Staff Writer

"You all refuse me every year with anything additional. Our crime numbers are going up. This is not Fort Boreman Park or the fountain over there (indicating the courthouse annex); we need more resources to protect the community. I need some more help. I need more assistants. I would like to have the prosecution of crime be made a priority," Conley said.

This is just another chapter in this ongoing situation. This will continue to get worse before it gets better. I hope we're still not fighting the 2005 Mayors race here, which is really when most of our current Party differences took on a life of their own.

Beane Bashers & Lovers

"I do, however, applaud members of the local Republican Party on this issue, because party loyalty remains alive and well—and is, indeed, growing—regardless of the overall state of affairs nationwide. Too bad the Democrats haven’t caught up with the thinking of the rest of the country."
Rhonda McNamara
Parkersburg
"I don’t think it’s fair or right for Ms. Grapes of the Democratic Executive Committee to bash other Democrats especially just to disguise her personal and true intentions to support her friend."

Donna Paxton
Ravenswood
"Manchin deliberately procrastinated on naming a judge before the recent election because both he and Beane knew there was a good chance Republican Fred Gillespie would win Beane’s House of Delegate seat if Beane resigned before the election."
Joseph K. Backus
Parkersburg
"I have to wonder how the people on the governor’s committee must feel after being asked to rate the eight candidates for the appointment of judge and then being ignored by the governor."
Burtram E. Merritt
Parkersburg
"I think it is now time for all good Democrats to give him their support and best wishes."
Kenda K. Weaver
Williamstown
